When is the best time to sell my tickets?
You can sell your tickets as soon as they appear in your season ticket holder account (Ticketmaster Account Manager), which usually coincides with the schedule release. Here are some key times throughout the season and what they could mean for your listing.
- When the schedule is posted. Usually there are fewer tickets listed at this time and fans that are planning far in advance are willing to spend a little more for the games that interest them, allowing you to maximize resale value.
- When the promotion schedule is released. Games that have promotions can sometimes impact the list price. When the promotion schedule is released, review which games you can attend and which would be good for resale.
- As soon as you know you can’t make it to the game. Don’t put off listing your tickets if you know you can’t attend a game. You might miss out on opportunities to connect with fans looking to buy.
- Throughout the pre-season. While long-standing rivalries will often generate larger sales regardless of the year, pre-season is also a time to watch how teams are shaping up. Early games can sometimes be an indication of how the season will go. Your team’s performance each year will have an impact on the price fans are willing to pay to see them live.
- A week or two before the game. If you can’t go to a game and it’s only a couple of weeks away, be sure to get your tickets listed. Fans often buy tickets a few days to a week in advance when they have a better idea of their availability. However, this can also come at a cost, as ticket prices tend to drop as game day gets closer.
